Good to know
Wiesn know-how in brief
- Dates: 19 September – 4 October 2026. The tapping (“O’zapft is!”) takes place on the first Saturday at noon in the Schottenhamel tent.
- Tents: open from 10 am Mon–Fri, from 9 am at weekends; last orders 10:30 pm, closing 11:30 pm. A Maß costs between €14.80 and €15.90 in 2026.
- Reservations: tables are booked directly with each tent (sales usually open in spring). Without one: on weekdays a quarter of all seats are walk-in, at weekends until 3 pm even 40 % – come in the morning and you will almost always find a spot.
- Bags: only bags up to 3 litres (approx. 20×15×10 cm) are allowed in, no backpacks at all. Handy: the apartment is so close that you don’t need to carry anything.
- Cash: cards are still not accepted everywhere in the tents – bring cash. Family tip: Tuesday is family day (until 7 pm) with discounted rides.
- Oide Wiesn: the nostalgic section at the southern end – historic rides for €1.50, quieter tents, €4 admission (free under 15 and after 9 pm).
- Getting here: Goetheplatz metro (U3/U6) runs normally during the Wiesn – the station refurbishment pauses from 19 Sept to 4 Oct. Around the Theresienwiese, streets are closed and parking is reserved for residents.
