Walk to the festival
The Tollwood Winter Festival takes place on the Theresienwiese – about 600 metres from the apartment. In under 10 minutes on foot you are among the lights, the market and the circus tent, and in the evening you simply stroll back.
New Year’s Eve without the journey home
The big Tollwood New Year’s Eve party starts on 31 Dec at 7 pm. No taxi at 3 am, no packed metro – after the party you are in bed within minutes.

Advent all over Munich

Tollwood know-how in brief
- Dates: 24 November to 23 December 2026 on the Theresienwiese, New Year’s Eve party on 31 December from 7 pm (ticket required). 2026 motto: “All in for the climate – the game of your life”.
- Admission: the festival grounds with the “Market of Ideas”, organic food from around the world and most concerts are free. You need tickets for the circus and dance shows in the Grand Chapiteau and for the New Year’s Eve party.
- Opening hours according to muenchen.de: Mon–Fri from 2 pm, Sat/Sun from 11 am; the market closes at 10:30 pm on Mon and Sun, 11:30 pm Tue–Sat, and 10 pm on 23 Dec.
- Programme: under the title “Made to Move You”, three international circus and dance productions perform. On Mondays at 8 pm “The world as a guest in the tent” hosts talks, including Luisa Neubauer (30 Nov), Sven Plöger and Uta Eser (14 Dec) and Robert Habeck (21 Dec).
- Getting there: from the apartment you walk (under 10 minutes). By metro: U4/U5 to Theresienwiese. Note: Goetheplatz station (U3/U6) is being refurbished until 27 Nov 2026.
